“When I first come to a space, many times I can see it done and everything else has to catch up.”
Michael is a graduate of New York University and has worked for such notable brands as Giorgio Armani, Ralph Lauren Home and Pottery Barn Kids. Before moving to California, he ran his own interior and product design firm in Manhattan and created an eponymous rug and wall décor collection. During these years, Michael developed his philosophy for design: stretching each client’s comfort zone while still reflecting the essence of his or her lifestyle.
For the past 10 years in the bay area, Michael has cultivated an award-winning aesthetic that blends the cosmopolitan sophistication of New York with the casual graciousness of California. Most recently, he won the Baldwin 2011 Hardware Design Competition. He is an allied member of the American Society of Interior Design (ASID). Michael has worked on projects throughout the United States and has been featured in Architectural Digest, Metropolitan Home Magazine and The San Francisco Chronicle.
Michael leads a talented team of designers on all of his projects to ensure no detail is left unattended in creating beautifully livable spaces layered with surprising textures, inviting colors and inspired details. With diversified experience in film, fashion, art, home staging and product design, Michael has an intuitive ability to understand what clients want, even when they don’t quite know themselves. He then brings this to life in unexpected ways with a perceptive eye and singular talent clients have called “rare and wonderful.”
“Michael provided us with exactly what we were looking for in our interior design. He is a great listener, and blends that with his expert eye so you have a design that you love but you could have never done without his genius!”
